With careful consideration and with much regret, the AUOC managing staff has decided
that it will not be sponsoring the State Convention during the Memorial weekend for the
second consecutive year.

The Assyrian United Organizations of California was established in the spirit of unity
and teamwork amongst all our California affiliate organizations. Through such relation,
the AUOC utilized various talents within each organization to provide many successful
projects such as annual scholarships, festivals, and athletic activities, cultural and social
functions.

During the last several years, the AUOC had limited the annual convention venue to
the Turlock area and the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock to host the indoor
activities, in order to control the costs associated with Hotels and outside services. Such
decision had resulted in great success for our community and affiliates. However, the
suspension of holding our annual state convention will eliminate the AUOC becoming
another entity competing within our own affiliates. In minimizing financial losses to both
the AUOC and other organizations, the AUOC will cease future conventions until a new
structure may be created.
